Future‑Proofing The UWI: Vice‑Chancellor’s Annual Report to be broadcast live across the region
The UWI Regional Headquarters, Jamaica, W.I., Thursday, May 7, 2026—On Friday, May 8, Professor Sir Hilary Beckles, Vice-Chancellor of The University of the West Indies (The UWI), will present his Annual Report to the University Council for the 2024/2025 academic year. The report will outline the University’s performance, highlight major achievements, and strategic priorities for the future.
The presentation, themed Future-Proofing UWI: Leading the Digital Revolution, will be livestreamed via UWItv, providing regional and international audiences with real-time access to insights on the University’s progress and future direction. It forms part of the University Council’s Annual Business Meeting—one of the most significant governance milestones in The UWI’s academic calendar.
As the highest governing body of the regional UWI system, the University Council plays a critical role in overseeing the University’s affairs. The Council is chaired by Chancellor, Dr. The Most Hon. Dodridge Miller, who leads its deliberations and decision-making processes.
